In addition, SMD functions as a distributor, designing customized systems for skilled nursing facilities and residential communities who are seeking to optimize safety for their residents, staff and visitors. This distributorship features a full complement of professionals who offer local sales and service to providers throughout a nine-state region stretching from Pennsylvania to Maine. The local effort starts with a complimentary, on-site assessment of system needs, and continues with responsive, local service after the sale.
The SMD product portfolio has applications across the continuum of care with systems installed in independent and assisted living communities as well as skilled nursing settings. SMD works with providers undergoing renovation, engaging in new construction, or simply upgrading dated systems in their communities. SMD is engaged in continuous product research with the goal of offering providers the level of technology needed to enhance safety within the parameters of their budget.
Meet Our Team
Rich Martini and Steve Rozinsky are two of the three of the partners that established SMD in 1988.
Rich Martini
Managing Partner
Rich Martini is the managing partner. He is based in Wallingford CT, and is responsible for the overall operations of SMD.
He takes information gathered during on-site assessments, and shares it with the technical team. Together they design customized systems and develop proposals.
Rich manages the SMD’s technical team which is located throughout the nine state service region.
Steve Rozinsky
Vice President, Sales
Steve Rozinsky represents SMD in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey working with providers to enhance safety for residents, staff and family members.
Because he works in the field and is well known among providers in his region, Steve is kept well informed of evolving provider needs.
Along with the sales team, he and Rich continually evaluate the product portfolio to ensure SMD is effective in helping providers achieve their safety goals.
Jim McKerley
Regional Sales Manager
Jim McKerley, Regional Sales Manager: Jim has been representing SMD since 1997, working with providers throughout New England over that time.
Having held the position of nursing home administrator early in his career, Jim has empathy for his customers. He understands the challenges associated with keeping residents, staff and visitors safe while also being accountable for your budget.
The high level of customer service Jim offers has led to the development of many long term business relationships in his region.
